Queen’s Landing is one of the most popular hotels in Niagara-On-The-Lake and for good reason. The vintage charm accompanied with location and friendly staff makes for a perfect getaway and place to host a wedding. Sonja and James planned an intimate wedding at Queen’s Landing with an Irish flare to celebrate and incorporate James’ background.
James is from Ireland and moved to Canada a few years ago. Sonja actually lived abroad in Ireland but it wasn’t until she came back home that she met her Irishman in a bar in Toronto. James had just recently migrated to Canada when the two met. They’ve been totally smitten since that night and made it official at their August wedding. From personal touches of true Irish dairy milk chocolate as take away gifts, stopping in at the Irish Harp (one of our favourite spots in NOTL!) for a pint, traditional Irish music playing throughout the night to old wedding photos of their parents, it was a day very personal to them. They even said I do at her father’s church and had him marry them. The blush tones and vintage details of this day were so beautifully paired with the space Queen’s Landing provides. Her blush wedding gown was a unique touch we truly loved. We didn’t mind that Queen’s Landing’s vegan chickpea stew is the greatest thing we’ve ever eaten either. Everyone go try it!
