For years we’ve been asked if we hosted workshops. We were always very adamant that if we did host a workshop we wanted to feel we were at a point in our art and business that we felt we could truly educate from experience. We also knew we wanted it to be something different. It is essential to us that photographers walk away from this experience feeling inspired and valued. Our biggest goal is for everyone to feel this is an investment well made. Additionally, we felt strongly about giving back not only through education, but financially as well. That is why we decided to gift $2000 to one photographer to re-invest into their business. It was an incredibly hard decision, but giving an artist the opportunity to grow is something we value. Our hearts were full after this incredible day spent with 8 inspiring women at our home in Niagara. They all came with the goal to take their inspiration, art and business to the next level.
We started Wedding Legends years ago to create a digital space focused on all love and the beautiful use of light to enhance emotion. Our art and business is derived from our passion for human connection and our obsession with light. 6 years of being in this industry has taught us the importance of connection and the role is plays in our lives. We are passionate about the experience a photographer, as an artist and human being, brings to a wedding day and this time in a couple’s journey. We planned a full day of discussion to educate on topics beginning with connection and how it impacts your art and business, how to connect with your couples from initial inquiry to final send of images, posing and direction, marketing, how to grow your business, editing and workflow, and a large hands on teaching shooting component with a real life couple.
The universe gifted us with an unexpected stunning sunset. Our truly amazing couple, Sam and Clinton had to drive back to Barrie and we wanted to spend as much time teaching light as we could. We decided to get dressed up and stand in to help further teach the best moments of golden hour and last light. We all shared some bubbles, shared stories of our lives and goals and exchanged a lot of hugs and smiles.
After so much planning and day dreaming about how the day would go, we truly could not have imaged a more perfect day. We hosted an intimate master class at our home with 8 inspiring women all from different walks of life with their own unique style and goals. These women have impressed us and left a mart on our hearts. We are blown away by their talent and how quickly they have applied what they learnt. The biggest thank you to Jennifer See Studios and Tj Tindale for guest speaking, educating and mentoring along side us for the day. Another huge thank you to Melanie of Lush Florals and Shannon Bellisle for helping us bring our vision to life. Their creativity in planning and creating the incredible ceremony set up in our backyard took our breath away. Thank you to our couple, Samantha and Clinton, for their openness and allowing us to teach what we love. Thank you to Fit To Eat for fueling us with healthy eats. Lastly, big love and thanks to Canon Canada, PicTime, 17Hats, Flothemes, BlackRapid, Dekora Album and SixteenTen for supporting this day.
We met with Katelyn Jay in August to give her the $2000 cheque to re-invest into her business. We’re so excited to see Katelyn and the other incredibly talented women achieve new goals!
