Priyanka + Aeingaran’s 4 day South East Asian wedding celebration in Toronto were 4 of the best days we’ve had. The best way we can describe Priyanka + Aeingaran is that they are as regal as Beyoncé + Jay-Z with hearts of gold. They exude such grace, class and warmth. They are two of the kindest people you will ever meet. When they met over 3 years ago he was smitten with her! Priyanka made him work for it and their love grew into a beautiful and strong connection. We were connected to them through a mutual photographer friend of ours, Lea, who is also literally the sweetest human being ever and a truly gifted artist! You can view her work here. This 4 day celebration were some of the most emotional and joyous days we’ve experienced. To immerse yourself in new beliefs, traditions and ceremonies is a beautiful thing. We were on a high these days as the emotions that took place were so deep and infectious.
Priyanka is Punjabi and Aeingaran’s family is Tamil + Hindu. To include all beliefs they mixed traditions for their gorgeous events. The first day we celebrated their Sagan Ceremony. We arrived once the party and henna began. The moment we walked in we were welcomed by their friends and family with open arms and our amazing videographer bestie Joe! (check out his work here!). The smiles, the celebration, the excitement, the love, the colours…we couldn’t get enough! Ally even fulfilled her dream of having traditional mendhi done and was the happiest human to have experienced and documented this day.
The second day we documented the Churra Ceremony. This truly was one of the most emotional ceremonies we have been apart of. You could feel the connection and emotions the moment you walked through the doors. Everyone shared tears, hugs and ended the evening dancing and eating amazing Indian food. We feel beyond grateful to have witnessed such an emotional experience.
Day three was by far one of the best days with the craziest weather that we’ve experienced in 5 years of photographing weddings. An early April day that hosted their marriage ceremony day was this wild day where we had a blizzard in the morning in some parts of the GTA, sun in the afternoon, back to a blizzard and then back to sun. It was cold, but everyone were such troopers! Priyanka really wanted winter photos and she got her wish! She was and is absolutely breathtaking. She’s ethereal. These are some of our favourite portraits we’ve ever taken, which partly was because of the weather, but mostly it’s the humbled confidence these two exude. This was also a very emotional day of such happiness and excitement but a very emotional evening for Priyanka leaving her family home. It’s a day we will cherish forever.
The reception day was the last day of their celebrations. We met for their portraits at Riverwood Conservation Area and were blown away the moment we saw them. Their vision, their outfits, their style and their love was a dream. They had a magician as their MC which was one of the coolest things we’ve ever seen. The night ended in the most incredible dance party ever. We stayed to dance, eat, celebrate and left on cloud 9. We will cherish the experience of this South East Asian wedding forever. These two recently moved to Singapore for a new adventure and truly could not be happier for them!
